TM and TMNS Tube shearing machines are designed to perform either separation or end (side shear) trim operations. During a separation cut, the tube is clamped on both sides of the area where the blade passes through. As the blade is pushed through the material, it removes a small section (typically .188”) of material. Both cut ends are then useable for production.
Side shearing or end trimming is commonly used to trim a tube end to length. It clamps the tube only on the “kept”side while the scrap comes off in a single section.
